the boyfriend's birthday

kim turned 26 last friday. we kicked off this year's celebration with tequila on thursday night while watching the wolfman on his laptop. i fell asleep but he was able to finish the movie.

early the next morning, i was very excited to give him my gifts. i got him this gorgeous jacket from zara man (which i have posted earlier) and an e2121b samsung mobile phone (it's cheap but it can take photos/videos and has a micro-sd slot, an fm radio with recording capability, and torchlight function).

our first stop for friday was the quiapo church. it has become "kim's church" since he would always go there when he was reviewing for the chemical engineering licensure exams in 2007. after our church visit, we passed by carriedo to buy dvd copies of koreanovelas - he's beautiful (or you're beautiful) and a perfect match.

next stop was our favorite mall - sm mall of asia, hehe. we wanted to watch a movie but there were no good films on. we were hoping despicable me was already showing but it wasn't so we settled to taking pictures with these yellow cuties.

we had merienda at mcdo and then just went around the mall to wait for the pyromusical show. after the fireworks display, we had a tekken 6 tournament and i won, 3-1.

dinner was at tgif (very appropriate!). we ordered our favorite fried mac and cheese (nomnomnom).

and had jack daniel's porkchops with mashed potatoes and corn (we weren't able to finish everything!).
with the birthday boy <3

on other news, i scored a cheap watch to add to my bracelet <3

and i got new high scores on fruit ninja: 242 (classic mode) and 199 (zen mode) *\0/*

fever, pll, sytycd, margarita, a baby girl, asthma, pimples

monday. i was not feeling well the whole day, dealing with my itchy/runny nose and sore throat. at around 5 p.m., my head started hurting terribly so i went to the clinic to have my body temperature checked - 37.2C, no fever. by 6 p.m., i am having chills so i took a nap on the couch in our department since i will be off by 7 p.m. when i got home, i was able to borrow a thermometer from friend-neighbor kate and my temperature was already 39C (it remained unchanged until 11 p.m., down to 38C). i was able to sleep after that and when i woke up the following morning my body temperature was back to normal - 36.7C. bioflu and koolfever worked!

tuesday. i did a pretty little liars marathon out of curiosity. elvin has been casting the research team and he said i should play aria so i just had to watch. i love the opening credits but the series is... so-so. honestly, i was able to finish the 10 episodes just because i kept trying to imagine who should play who. and my character had too many kissing scenes on the first episode alone (not to mention the subplot on her lovelife seems totally irrelevant). meanwhile, elvin's idea of abi playing jenna cracked me up. i was laughing to myself every time jenna appeared in the scenes.

wednesday and thursday. i spent most of these days watching so you think you can dance seasons 6 and 7. it made me miss my dance diva days during high school and college. i really should take dance classes again soon.

friday. i spent the day doing the laundry and the night drinking margarita with my mean girls at agave at bonifacio high street. we went home at 5 a.m. the following day - sweet!

kim tagged along just in case we get a little too drunk (we didn't!). i got cured of cold and cough temporarily after five glasses of margarita, ha-ha-ha!

saturday. i finally met my brother's firstborn. in the photo below, she was sleeping soundly in my arms <3 she's so small, weighing only 5.61 lbs. she was born on august 19, 2010, which was also my mom and dad's 32nd wedding anniversary so her debut will be celebrated on my parents' golden wedding anniversary!

sunday. linggo ng hika for me. been nursing this cough for three weeks now. meanwhile, i noticed that after trying out garnier products for almost two months, my face became prone to pimples. i never imagined i'd get fond of this clear patch from watson's that was supposed to dry pimples within eight to 12 hours. i'm yet to see if it really works. anyway, i decided i will be switching back to neutrogena products very soon eventhough they are a bit pricey. i hope i won't be needing pimple patches for long.

110th monthsary

kim and i spent the morning of our 110th monthsary apart. i attended the general assembly of our office's employees union, while he went to a job examination and interview. we met after lunch and headed to greenbelt 3 to buy tickets for the 4:30 p.m. show of step up 3d.

while waiting for the previous screening to end, we had free coffee at starbucks (still courtesy of this hsbc promo) and took advantage of the nearby via mare's free wi-fi, ha-ha!

we also stopped by fullybooked and i got some cute stuff (i don't really need, ha-ha!).

after the movie, we were still full from the nyfd fries we ate while watching so we just had our favorite blt pizza at california pizza kitchen for dinner.

here are our 7:38 p.m. photos:

fridate the 13th

i started my day by cleaning my nails. i attempted painting them too but it didn't look promising so i stopped. my weapons:

after lunch, i accompanied kim to glorietta. he went to this job fair, while i proceeded to landmark. he got an examination and interview schedule for next tuesday, not bad. i, on the other hand, found these cute rolls of adhesive tape:

kim also found this necklace with an elephant-clock pendant for me:

we then decided to head to and kill time at sm mall of asia. we waited for the 7 p.m. pyromusical show, which turned out to be justin bieber-inspired, ha-ha!

while waiting for the fireworks display, we had quail eggs for merienda from this dr. kwek-kwek kiosk outside the mall near the terminals. five pieces of quail eggs for P20 and eight pieces for P30, plus gulaman for P20 - quite expensive! but i was craving for quail eggs so...

before going home, we went grocery-shopping at sm hypermarket. what made me really happy was this cute steam iron! i just wish there were a pink version.

a friday of cheap, discounted, free stuff

last friday, i finally pushed through with my second visit to the dentist for this year. kim accompanied me to the medicard clinic in sagitarrius building, makati. i only went for an oral prophylaxis but the dentist also did four light cures (everything was covered by my medicard) so i had to keep my mouth open for one hour straight. after that, i didn't open my mouth until it was time to eat my lunch, haha.

we had lunch at shakey's and we got a 10-percent discount courtesy of my ayala card.

see? i can't even smile properly, haha.

no cavities :)

after lunch, we headed to globe telecom plaza in mandaluyong to claim these movie passes kim won as consolation prize on the i love globe contest.

the catch: valid until aug. 12, 2010 only

our next stop was robinson's galleria for saizen - "a virtual wasteland of everything cute," according to chuvaness, and i can't agree more. if like me, you enjoy going to japan home (everything at P88) and uncle bills (everything at P66), you will definitely love saizen (everything at P85).

here are photos of some of the stuff i bought:

heart-shaped toe separators

two-tone bath sponge

back bath sponge with straps

cover and inside pages

makeup remover

"the useful bag for putting small things"

storage bags for clothes

from robinson's galleria, we walked to sm megamall so i can finally visit the forever 21 store everybody has been raving about. my first minutes in the store were spent browsing through its pricey jewelry selection, haha. the store was about to crush my expectations until i saw these two pieces.

P1,018.50 each

i decided i have spent enough for the day. just thinking of walking around megamall makes me tired (it's just too big) and kim was also tired already so we thought of going to shangri-la mall for starbucks. yeah, we had to walk again! we didn't know if there's a starbucks in mega and we were just too tired to also ask around, hahaha. so anyway, thanks to hsbc, we had tall frappuccinos for free before heading home.
